Berric
is a 16.2hh grey gelding who was of no further use to anyone. He
was sent through the auctions and was on his way to the meatman.
Pam felt sorry for this big horse, who as at that time very underweight,
having checked him over she found a very tender area along his
back. Having made further enquiries this horse had already passed
through two dealer's hands at the auction itself and was on his way to
death row. Pam wanted to give this horse a chance and managed to
persuade the dealer to let her have him for a reasonable amount and she
took him home. Berric was indeed found to have a bad back and a
back specialist spent time over several weeks putting Berric
right. Today he is a happy horse who has teamed up with Bert and
will start his retraining in the spring. Pam admits he is a lovely
horse, good to handle a a joy to own.
UPDATE...... Thanks to the Wrexham Evening Leader, where an appeal was launched for a new home for Berric, he now has a new home. Ruth has taken on Berric as a pet and dressage horse for her daughter. He has settled in really well. Ruth saw the appeal and was delighted to take Berric on. We hope they have a long and happy partnership together |
